Rooms at Deetjens are cozy, rustic and decorated with a blend of antiques and funky treasures from the past. Grandpa Deetjen designed and built the Inn over a span of three decades, from the 30's to the 60's. Each room has a unique personality. Cotton floral prints cover the beds and drape windows that look out onto the lush redwood forest or our charming gardens. While we all love our pets, please leave them at home.

Because a personal welcome to Deetjens Inn is important to the quality of your experience with us, we accept reservations by phone only, not via our web-site, email or fax. By speaking with you directly we can find the best accomodations for your needs. Please remember that Deetjens is a modestly sized Inn, with a small but dedicated office staff on hand to help you.

Reservations are taken at 831-667 2377 Monday thru Friday from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
and on Saturday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. We look forward to hearing from you!

We work to maintain a peaceful environment, extraordinarily different from the buzz of everyday life. To this end there are no televisions, stereos or phones in the rooms, and no cell phone access on the property. There is a pay phone in our Library. Please, absolutely no pets. All of our rooms are non-smoking.

Our historic buildings have single-wall construction, and are far from soundproof. To insure a tranquil stay for all our guests, we can accommodate children under 12 only if you reserve both rooms of a two-room building. We have a two-night minimum on the weekends, and there is a $25 housekeeping fee for each guest above 2 per room.

Please make weekend and holiday reservations several weeks in advance. Check-in time is anytime after 4 pm, and checkout time is noon.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations must be secured by a payment in the amount of the first two nights of your stay. The deposit is refundable or transferable only if you cancel at least 7 days before your arrival. There is a $20.00 cancellation fee.
